How do you remain indifferent to Rome? Indifferent to the roman-way and its contradictions? Grattachecca vendors from Sri Lanka in the kiosks along Lungotevere, spritz-sipping vitelloni eyeing at Nordic beauties by the Pantheon, the lazy pizzardoni (mock-name for local police) strolling along the Spanish Steps holding block of fines, pretending to work. Noisy crowds of tattooed pilgrims wandering about baroque monuments. Empty ice cream paper cups on cobblestones. Ancient ruins and modern litters.

Revolting Rome, overwhelming Rome. Yet Rome, outraged by the hordes of Huns and Barbarians, fast-food abusers and dreadlocked backpackers posing for an instagram Selfies on their iPhones, KEEPs CALM & remains the same…
